Welcome to Thoroughbred Consulting Services a website and service designed to help you improve your racing and breeding stock.  My name is Bob Schuler an as your Bloodstock Advisor I can assist you in selecting better yearlings, two-year-olds in training and broodmare prospects.  At auctions, depending on your specific needs, I can provide you with a “short list” of the best prospects.  With purses rising because of video poker, slots and casinos, racing and breeding are becoming more challenging and competitive.  I can help you become more successful.

With regards to purchasing yearlings or two-year-olds in training, I don’t just look at “nicks.”  If that is all you are doing, then you will not be successful.  “Nicks” or “nicking,” is based on “open” stakes winners and “graded” stakes winners.  There are a number of “state-bred” or “restricted” stakes winners and solid “allowance” winners that “nicks” does not use.  I find “all” Successful Breeding Patterns.

For broodmare owners trying to find the “right” stallion, it has become “popular” to go to a breeding farm website that has “eNicks” and you can do a “hypothetical mating.”  The “eNicks” calculation tells you that you have an “A++” rating.  So you automatically think you have the makings of a “graded” stakes winner.  When this doesn’t happen, do you blame “eNicks,” the stallion, the breeding farm, your broodmare, your trainer?  There many different factors to consider when breeding your mare, “eNicks” is not the final answer.

I can also help your racing and breeding operations become more profitable by doing an in depth study.  I will identify your best racing stock and your best broodmare prospects.  This will help you eliminate your less profitable racing stock and also help you sell off inferior broodmares.
